NNEPRA partners with Pan Am Railways and Amtrak to ensure safe operating conditions for the Downeaster service.  A key to this is proper vegetation management to provide clear line of sight and reduce the risk of falling limbs and debris on the track. As part of its annual maintenance program, NNEPRA has contracted out services for brush cutting along sections of the corridor in Maine.
